Timothy Gage is a New York City based theatre artist and educator. As an artist, Timothy works as a director and choreographer and has put up numerous shows with students ages 5 – 18. As an educator, he has taught acting, dance, writing, improv, speech, movement, and more to students ages 3 – 80. Timothy has taught at New York Theatre Workshop, Stagedoor Manor, TADA! Youth Theatre, A Class Act NY, and Millbrook Playhouse. He is also a member of the education staff at American Ballet Theatre. He holds a BA in Theatre Arts from SUNY New Paltz and is currently working towards his MA in Educational Theatre at NYU. He is so excited to be working with Brooklyn Acting Lab!...

Tristan J. Shuler - Born and raised in Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, Tristan J. brings over a decade of experience in musical theatre, acting for stage & screen, directing, playwrighting & performance into the classroom. Having coached actors and performers ages 5-65, Tristan has taught with Acting Out!, Koin & Co Dancers, Improbable Stage, TaDa! Sophie Krupanszky is originally from Denver, Colorado, where she attended an arts magnet high school majoring in theatre. She then took a gap year where she travelled to Latin America volunteering and interning, learning about Theatre of the Oppressed and theatre education. Sophie has been in multiple productions, her favorites being Elizabeth (Dear Elizabeth), Dee (And I in Silence) and has choreographed for James and the Giant Peach. She now lives in New York City and attends Pace University where she is receiving her BFA in Acting for Film, Television, Voice Overs and Commercials. She has a passion for creating art that amplifies marginalized voices and stories....

Pamela Joy (She/Her/Hers) Classically trained at DeSales University, Pamela is delighted to be a part of the BAL team. Always in touch with the child within, Pamela has always had a strong affinity for kids and their sense of play, wonder, and awe. Before the pandemic, she had the wonderful opportunity of performing as the Monster Mas character in various Bronx schools with the author of the Monster Mas Children’s Book Series. Pamela loves to perform for kids of all ages and some of her favorite theatre credits include Dara in Black Sheep (Kugga Inc.),Willie in Tennessee Williams' This Property is Condemned (Always Love Lucy Theatre), Suki in Pinter's Celebration (Double Down Productions), and Mary Anne in After Tartuffe (Fresh Fruit Festival). Marilyn Arnold (she/her) is a dramaturg/actor based in Astoria with a Bachelor of Arts in theater and minor in education from Saint Louis University and a certificate in acting from London Dramatic Academy. She’s worked as a reader or collaborator developing new work with companies across the country including Bay Area Playwrights Festival, The Athena Project, ERA, Post- Romantics, Prison Performing Arts, Columbia School of the Arts, and Inversion Theater. She has been lucky enough to be teaching in classrooms for nearly 10 years now with Main Street Theater-Houston, Metro Theater Company, SLU Summer Programs, SLU’s school of education, and now Brooklyn Acting Lab! She’s so excited to begin this adventure with the young actors of BAL....

Lizz Mangan (she/her/hers) is a playwright, dramaturg and educator. She is a Connecticut native and graduate of the University of Connecticut (BA in Theatre Studies; Concentration in Playwriting and Dramaturgy and a Minor in English). Coming from a devising background, Lizz believes that collaboration is one of the most powerful teaching tools there is, and aims to be a springboard for student’s ideas in order to allow them to create their own path in any given lesson. When not teaching, Lizz can be found reading plays, perfecting her at-home barista skills, and searching for the next great banana bread recipe....

Joy Donze (she/her) is a Queer identified Actor/Director/Producer based in Park Slope BK! In September 2020 Joy booked the role of Blu In the feature film titled “The Institute.” 2019 She produced “Look back in Anger” Off- Broadway at The Gene Frankel Theatre. On stage Joy was recently seen performing the role of Haley in the World Premiere of “Lily” at NJ Repertory. 2019 she was Director/Creative Consultant for 3 original female solo shows: “Threshold” @ Gibney Dance Center, “The Box Owner” at Hudson Guild, and “Pieces; The Ashlee Simpson show, performed at the Duplex. She also directed “Handmaids Tale: The Musical Parody" at The Kennedy Center & NYC’s The Cutting Room. Joy is an award winning solo performer, taking her show “13 and not pregnant” to New York, Chicago and Edinburgh fringe where she received Best Comedy and 5 star reviews. Jeana Scotti is a playwright and educator who was born and raised in NY. She currently lectures at Purchase College. As a teaching artist, she has taught little humans theatre, writing, and storytelling in after school programs. Her work as a playwright has been performed at Dixon Place, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Access Theatre, The Tank, Theatre for a New City, and Rutgers University. She received her BA in Theatre and Performance from Purchase College and her MFA in Playwriting from Rutgers Mason Gross....

Jasmine Maldonado, (she/her) dancer, actor and writer, is elated to be joining the BAL family! She is originally from Houston, Texas, which is where she first fell in love with dance and musical theatre. Jasmine moved to New York in 2018 to attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Jasmine so proudly graduated in the fall of 2019 and is hopeful for her future here in the city. In Texas, Jasmine danced competitively, and throughout received multiple awards and accolades for her choreography and dance performance. Jasmine was also nominated for Broadway World’s Greater Houston, Tx Area Best Leading Actress Regional awards, for her performance as Kate Monster in the Musical Avenue Q. Since moving to New York Jasmine has had the opportunity to receive direction from and work alongside many wonderful artists like, Chryssie Whitehead-Disbrow, Diane Ciesla, Nathan Brewer, and Gene Castel. Jasmine hopes to be an inspiration to our young artists just like her very own mentors were to her....
