Indoor After-School Programs

For 2022, BAL will be offering Indoor after-school theater and acting classes at our two convenient Park Slope locations. We are opening our brand new studio in South Slope at 56 Windsor Place @ 8th Avenue and will continue offerings in North Slope at the Old First Reformed Church located at 729 Carroll Street. We will be be masking indoors, continuing daily screenings, and following all NYS Guidelines to keep our community safe. All BAL teaching artists are required to be fully vaccinated and all students over the age of 12 also need to be fully vaccinated to participate in our Indoor Programs.

Outdoor After-School Programs

It’s time to celebrate nature and connect with creativity! Join us for after-school theater classes in Prospect Park where we’ll invent new and exciting stories inspired by the rich history and natural beauty of the park. We’ll sing to the trees, dance with the squirrels, and run with the wind. BAL’s outdoor acting classes for kids have been running since July 2020 and our BAL students are jazzed to be able to re-connect with their BAL buddies and continue to do what they love. We move BIG and play hard and at the end of the season we will share our stories under the trees in an outdoor performance for families. School pick-up continues this Winter/Spring!

Online After-School  Programs

Join us in the Zoom Theater for after-school acting and theater classes! In addition to indoor and outdoor programming options, BAL’s online programming allows you to bring the BAL magic directly into your home! Guided by experienced teaching artists who are both educators and theater professionals, we’ve adapted your favorite improv games to the virtual space and have discovered new and exciting ways to create stories, develop characters, and hone performance skills. Virtual programs culminate in an online video share for friends and families.

The theater magic of BAL continues with after-school theater and acting classes offered indoors at two convenient Park Slope locations, outdoors in Prospect Park, and online via the Zoom Theater! Brooklyn Acting Lab is committed to continuing to provide safe and creative spaces for youth to come together to connect, share stories, express themselves, and create. At BAL we deeply believe that the arts are essential, the arts restore happiness, and the arts build community. Together, we are finding the joy in every day. Please join us!
