Amalia is a New York State certified theatre teacher. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Educational Theatre from New York University. Currently, she is a 3rd grade teaching assistant at NEST+m. In 2011, she performed both as Prince and Paris in an abridged version of Romeo and Juliet with the NYU Shakespeare to Go Troupe, visiting elementary and high schools in four boroughs. She also helped devise and acted in The Triangle Project, a play about the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. Amalia believes in the power of theatre to foster creativity and self-confidence in young people.
