Hailing from Washington, DC, Rachel Leigh Dolan, is an award winning choreographer, master dance teaching artist, and performer with numerous New York, DC and Regional Theatre credits. Upon relocating to New York City in 2018, she joined choreographer Denis Jones in the Broadway Dance Lab for “Tootsie,” as well as a choreography presentation for the Broadway bound show, “Chasing Rainbows.” Rachel is the Associate Choreographer for two brand new, interactive dance shows, “Humanity” and “Stages” with Step One Dance Company currently touring on Holland America Line. She is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and a two-time Helen Hayes Award Recipient for Outstanding Choreography in a Musical.
Making her professional performance debut at 14 years old in Debbie Allen’s “Dreams” at the Kennedy Center, she was honored to performed alongside Ms. Allen again in 2002 in “Pearl,” and spent two summers training at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy in Los Angeles. Having trained in all forms of dance, Rachel studied with the Dance Theatre of Harlem Dance Residency Program, Steps on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center, and New York City Dance Alliance. She studied Journalism at Fordham University at Lincoln Center, and is a published writer, having free- lanced for Dance Magazine for several years.
Along with choreographing and performing, Rachel is a passionate educator with 17 years experience training dancers from beginners to professionals. She was a founding faculty member at the innovative private performing arts secondary school, The Academy at Metropolitan School of the Arts, and has guest taught for Catholic University of America, American University, and Montgomery College. Along with a love for dance, Rachel has a deep love of yoga and fitness. Having taught yoga since 2012, she trained extensively in Baptiste Power Yoga with the Baptiste Power Yoga Institute and Down Dog Yoga.
