AFTER SCHOOL THEATER PROGRAM

In this session-long, mini musical program students will develop their own original musical based on the theme School Stories. They will write short scenes and with the director select age-appropriate pop songs to that connect to the storytelling. They will also create and learn choreography. Through the process they will develop their vocal, movement, and acting skills. Every student gets a part and will work with teaching artists to develop their characters through an ensemble-based rehearsal process. We will explore musicals like HS Musical, Bring it On, Hairspray and other school-inspired stories and musicals.

Families will be invited to an informal share at the BAL studio on December 14th during class time to see what the ensemble has created. This is the week before the final class.
