In addition to virtual programming, BAL is offering limited Outdoor Programming at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. Weekly themes are available to students entering 1st thru 8th grades. Classes run on weekly schedules from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. These programs are immersive theatrical adventures and will give the children an opportunity to play outdoors, dance and move, and engage in guided dramatic play and improvisation. It’s going to be a hoot!
Young PLAYers Outdoors (1st - 4th Grades)
Themes for Young PLAYers Outdoors are designed for students entering 1st – 4th grades. Classes run on weekly schedules from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Groups will be limited to no more than 8-10 students, plus one Teaching Artist and one Teaching Assistant. To ensure the safety and health of the participants, their families and teaching artists, we will not have performances or invited shares. Sept 8 -11 | 9AM – 3PM | Medieval Times | $475
Travel back to “Once Upon a Time” as we go on a quest like no other! We’ll become knights, princesses, princes, witches, and wizards on a journey through a mystical land to discover the land’s true king. Grab your armor or magic hat and watch the secrets unfold. You never know when a dragon will be around the corner!

Sept 14-15 | 9AM – 3PM | Rock The House! | $225
Hear that? It’s the roar of your screaming fans! This week, we use our imaginations to become ROCK STARS! Musical instruments and the creation of our very own music video make this week a “can’t miss” for any child who dreams about rocking the stage.

Can’t wait to see your name up in lights? Immerse yourself in a week-long exploration of Broadway musicals from different eras. This ensemble-driven musical theatre intensive will give you the opportunity to develop and hone your vocal, dance, and acting skills in a supportive and nurturing environment. Each day is broken into sessions to focus on specific performance skills.

Sept 14-15 | 9AM – 3PM | Acting Lab | $225
In this two-day intensive we will work on scripted scenes. Students will learn how to work on text by exploring text analysis, subtext, and beats. Age-appropriate material will be selected. Gain confidence, have fun, and get moving!

TWICE THE NICE!
BAL is fresh-off our first week of outdoor programming and it was fabulous to see so many happy faces creating “theater magic” safely, and in-person! We had such a blast that we’re adding an extra 1.5 hours to each day’s outdoor programming. Both Young Players (1st-4th) and Summer Intensives (5th-8th) will now run from 9am-1pm, Mon-Thurs.
