Summer Programs

Thanks for a FANTASTIC SUMMER, Brooklyn! We hope to see you in our afterschool classes this fall, winter, and spring.

Summer 2018 programs will be available in December!

Spend your summer performing, creating, imagining, and having fun! Brooklyn Acting Lab offers weekly immersive theatre programs for early childhood, elementary, and middle school actors from June 19th thru September 1st. Our themes shape the stories we share, the games we play, and the art and music that are woven into the flow of each day. Join us for as many weeks as you choose – themes change every week!

Youth Centered Drama:

BAL’s summer programs are offered to early childhood students (entering Pre-K & K in Fall ’17), elementary students (entering 1st-3rd grades in Fall ’17) and upper elementary/middle school students (entering 4th-9th grades in Fall ’17).

Program themes are designed to be educational and age appropriate for the groups they serve.

Dates / Times:

Programs run all summer long from June 19th-September 1st, Monday through Friday, in weeklong sessions and four-weeklong sessions (purchased individually). Each day begins at 9am and dismisses at 3pm.

Early and Aftercare:

Early drop-off (8:30am on Mondays and 8am Tuesday thru Friday) and aftercare (3-6pm) is offered to all students Monday through Thursday. We do not offer after-care on Fridays. Learn more about early and aftercare hours and costs here.

Activities:

In addition to theatre workshops, students also have time built into their day for outdoor play, lunch, two snacks, music, and visual art. At the end of each day, students get additional time for theatre games and reflection.

Sharings:

Each Friday at 2:00pm (BAL Studio @ 1012 8th Avenue) and  2:30pm (all other locations), Brooklyn Acting Lab hosts a “share” for all students.  The “share” gives the children a chance to perform together as an ensemble and to share with an audience the theatre piece they have been creating over the course of the week. Families and friends are welcome to attend these performances.
